This year my girlfriend and I hosted Friendsmas at our house. This was my first Gluten Free Christmas! We had a bit of a potluck, everyone brought something to eat. One of our guests made two batches of Sweet and Sour Meatballs, one with gluten, one without.
Ingredients:
Sauce:
- 1 cup of water
- 1 cup of brown sugar
- 1/2 cup of ketchup
- 1/2 cup of vinegar
- 2 tbs of Worcestershire
Meatballs:
- 1 egg
- 10 crackers
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 365F
- Combine sauce ingredients and mix well.
- Place the meatballs in a frying pan on medium heat to brown the outsides.
- Drain the fat and place the meatballs into a baking dish.
- Pour the sauce over the meatballs.
- Bake for 45 minutes, or until fully cooked.
- Stir the meatballs every 20 minutes.
I like to eat these meatballs with a large bowl of rice, rice noodles or gluten free stuffing!
