 4 Tips to Start Losing Weight

I wanted to write a post geared towards everyone who is moderately overweight. This is for people who want to lose weight but struggle to make it to the gym. This may be because you have a busy life, have certain financial constraints, or you really hate working out! These 4 Tips to Start Losing Weight can be used by anyone!

1. Stop Dieting

This seems counter intuitive, we diet to lose weight! Why would I give up my super awesome paleo, keto gluten free super restrictive diet? Diets are hard thinking of going keto? Be prepared to never eat fruits or veggies. Carnivore diet? Give up all sources of carbs, cakes, cookies, rice, cereal, etc. etc. Rather than sticking to a super strict diet I would prefer to see someone exercising portion control. Lets assume you have ice cream as a before bed snack. I would never tell you to stop having your favorite snack. I would say to cut back. Instead of having two scoops of ice cream, have one scoop. 
If you are home alone and board, you want some chips to crunch on. Get your chips but do not take the entire bag. Measure out one cup of your favorite chips and bring that with you to the couch. This has two benefits. You are likely to eat fewer chips because there are fewer chips around! Also leading into my next point, if you want more chips, you have to get up and walk to the bag!

Dumbbell Only Full Body Workout

Covid-19 sucks. Gyms are closed or at best limited capacity. Even with the gyms open I am scared to be around a group of people breathing as heavy as possible. If one person has the vid, we could all get the vid. Luckily for me Costco had some dumbbells for sale and I bought a set! That is what has inspired me to put this Dumbbell Only Full Body Workout together! Take a look, tell me what you think!

This workout should take you about one hour. You will notice that the bench press has 5 sets, this is because I want to focus on my chest. If you want to focus on your legs or glutes, reduce the number of bench press sets and increase the number of sets you do for your legs or glutes.

I have celiac disease, I am also allergic to oats. Most home made weight gainer shakes use oats to beef up the carbs. As I can not eat oats I need to find better ways to fill out my weight gainer shakes. 

Ingredients:

  1. 1 Banana
  2. 1 Apple (I prefer jazz)
  3. 1 cup of Almond Milk. I use unsweetened almond milk
  4. 1 scoop of your favorite protein powder
  5. 2 tablespoons of hemp hearts or chia seeds
  6. 1 tablespoon of peanut butter
  7. 1 tablespoon of nutella
  8. 1 tablespoon of honey

How to Track your Fitness Journey

I believe that in order to be successful you need to have a goal. You need to set goals that are obtainable
and easy to achieve in small steps. My goal is to be more muscular, more health, and overall better than I was last year. This is a very broad goal but I have some ways of achieving my goal. I would like to share with you how I track my fitness goals. First a quote from a very smart business man Peter Drucker:
